Shoot is a pool slide in its most subtle and sculptural form. A great trajectory of water is recreated, rising steeply and forcefully, only to reach it’s pinnacle and burst over, forming a perfect arc.
Rooted with steel foundations the structure starts as a thin burst, sprouting up vertically from the ground, surging forward, spreading in width and diving back down vertically over the pool. The visual and physical thrill of the overhanging, seemingly unbalanced large mass, incites a double-take at the impossibly balanced sculpture.
The alternate bursts provide individual footholds to climb the slide, and the edge of the sculpture curls inwards offering a handrail. The lustrous silver leaf glistens in the sun, echoing the water below.
